本田ルミ　Rumi Honda

書家/1989年生まれ/山梨県出身、現在神奈川県茅ヶ崎市を拠点に活動
5歳より筆を持ち、山梨県知事賞など受賞歴多数
2012年－2016年　”本田書道教室”・”お寺で書道”の企画と指導
2014年　アート作品の制作展示を始める
2015年　初個展開催
2016年　銀座ART FOR THOUGHTや赤坂＋PLUSショールームにて企　　　　画展開催
2017年　関西に拠点を移し、2年間で100を超える日本庭園を巡る
2020年　子供を授かる
2022年　台東区正定寺に襖絵を収蔵　同お寺にて個展開催
2023年　FEI PURO ART AWARD 入選
2024年　ACTアート大賞展　2次審査展出品

「線に想いをのせ、書で綴る心と自然」

5歳より筆を持ち、山梨県知事賞をはじめとする数々の受賞歴を重ねてきました。
伝統的な書道の鍛錬を積み、その技法を抽象表現へと昇華させています。

私にとって書道とは、「精神を研ぎ澄まし、己と向き合うこと」です。
そして邪念を払い無心になるまで書くことは精神の癒しであり、
技術を超えた”気づき”と”学び”をもたらしてくれます。
揺れ動いた感情、感銘を受けた思想、実際に見た自然を
数ヶ月、数年かけ熟考し、心を揺るがしたものの本質を探し求め、線と余白に託し
「言葉にできない感情」「目に見えない心の移ろい」「生命の力」を削ぎ落とした線の美と自然を融合し表現しています。

制作テーマは、漢字の成り立ちから始まり、微生物の生殖活動、音や思想、花や雲、草木などの自然、鯉などの生き物、
そして”祈り”や”静寂”と多岐にわたります。
素材は奈良や鈴鹿の墨、全国の伝統和紙など、テーマに合うものを選び作品に繋げています。

私自身と真摯に向き合い、無心の境地で生み出した作品が、
見てくださる方にとっても、「内なる静けさ」と「本来の自分と向き合う時間」、その時に寄り添える作品になれたら幸いでございます。
また、寺院への収蔵や芸術祭の選出、国内外多数でコレクション実績があります。

私はこれからも書と共に人生を歩み、学び、制作し続けてまいります。

Calligrapher / born in 1989 / Yamanashi Prefecture, currently based in Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture
I have been writing since I was 5 years old and has received many awards including the Yamanashi Prefecture Governor's Prize.
2012-2016: Planning and teaching “Honda Calligraphy Class” and “Calligraphy at Temple
2014 Started creating and exhibiting art works
2015 First solo exhibition
2016 Held exhibitions at ART FOR THOUGHT in Ginza and +PLUS showroom in Akasaka
2017 Moved to Kansai and visited over 100 Japanese gardens in 2 years
2020 Have a child
2022: Collection of fusuma paintings at Shojoji Temple in Taito Ward, Tokyo; solo exhibition at the temple
2023 Selected for FEI PURO ART AWARD
2024: Exhibited in the second round of the ACT Art Award Exhibition

“Conveying thoughts through lines, expressing the heart and nature through calligraphy”

I have been practicing calligraphy since the age of five and have received numerous awards, including the Yamanashi Prefectural Governor's Award.
Through rigorous training in traditional calligraphy, I have refined my techniques and elevated them to abstract expression.

For me, calligraphy is about “sharpening the mind and confronting oneself.”
Writing until all distractions fade away and the mind becomes empty is a form of spiritual healing,
and it brings about insights and lessons that transcend technique.
Emotions that have stirred, ideas that have left an impression, and the natural world I have witnessed
are pondered over months or years, seeking the essence of what has shaken my heart. I entrust this to lines and negative space,
blending the beauty of lines stripped of “indescribable emotions,” “the invisible fluctuations of the heart,” and “the power of life” with nature.

The themes of my work span a wide range, from the origins of kanji characters to the reproductive activities of microorganisms, sounds and ideas, nature such as flowers, clouds, and plants, living creatures like koi, and concepts like “prayer” and “silence.”
I select materials such as ink from Nara and Suzuka, and traditional Japanese paper from across the country, choosing those that align with the theme and incorporating them into my work.

The works I create by sincerely confronting myself and entering a state of mindfulness,
I hope will serve as companions for those who view them, offering “inner tranquility” and “time to confront one's true self.”
Additionally, my works have been collected by temples, selected for art festivals, and acquired by numerous institutions both domestically and internationally.

I will continue to walk alongside calligraphy, learning and creating throughout my life.
